Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their accounting career in a supportive environment, gaining hands-on experience across day-to-day finance operations, reporting, and month-end processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance staff and support the smooth running of the accounts function while developing practical knowledge of accounting systems, financial controls, and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Reconcile bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims accurately
  • Help maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journals, accruals, and prepayments under supervision
  • Support VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Help with audit preparation and responding to auditor queries
  • Ensure finance data is entered accurately and on time
  • Support the continuous improvement of finance processes and controls
  • Carry out general finance and administrative duties as required

Desirable

  • Relevant internship, placement year, or office experience
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Intention to study towards a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA

Role Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related subject

Strong numerical and analytical skills

Good attention to detail and accuracy

Competent in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Good organisational and time management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to learn and develop within a finance role

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
